design-people benchmarks smartphone experience
Womenomics - the emerging influence of female consumers - has an impact on most industries. Thus the development toolbox emerging from design-people's 3 year design-research project "Female Interaction" is highly requested. Nokia was one of the first to bring the analysis tools into play in order to benchmark its Smartphone user experience in a female perspective - with considerable success and valuable insights.
”We asked design-people to carry out a female interaction analysis on the Nokia N8 smartphone applications. The analysis methods provided us with new insights and inspired us to intensify the effort of improving our interaction design and female user experience".

Sleek audio design
How to design a classic satellite speaker to fit into the modern living environment as companion to flat screen TV’s? And how to make it attractive for the female part of the world?
Our product design team converted these challenges into a discreet, yet unique speaker design for Jamo. The overall shape is an evolution of Jamo’s design language; there is a clear overall form statement while refined, soft form details catch the attention when you get closer and touch the product. The signature element is a characteristic grill pattern that gives the product identity and style.

Woman Acceptance Factor radio
The goal for this design study was to revitalize the concept of a kitchen radio by making a significant
design statement. Basic radio functions and a powerful clear sound are combined with a unique touch interface and an eye catching slim-line design. The touch scroll bar used for adjusting the sound volume gives a subtle and classy interaction experience.
High end materials and surfaces together with the simple and sophisticated way of operating the radio
makes this radio study especially attractive for the female target group. All together a stunning example
of how well known products can be revitalized by consistent and innovative design thinking.

An interaction design DNA creates strong brands and loyal customers
For today’s advanced products the user interaction is a crucial design element. Good interaction design contributes to a positive user experience that gives competitive advantage and customer loyalty.
We have a long experience and expert knowledge concerning interaction design for analog and digital devices, mobile applications, web- and PC interfaces.
The way to the right interaction design often goes through user research, user profiling and use scenario mapping. Our feature workshop helps us match the different user profiles with features that matters in the right situations. Once these conceptual basics are right we are ready to dive into menu structures, navigation principles, screen graphics and icon design. Involving users and interaction psychology experts for feedback and verification at different stages of the process is often part of the process.
To develop a good interaction design for one product or solution is a great challenge, but to make the interaction design of a product range coherent, ensuring that the users are comfortable when going from one product to the next is even more demanding. Done right it’s a great strategic asset for you company – creating loyal customers.
For a number of our clients we are a strategic partner, contributing on a long term basis to a consistent design line.
Corporate audio design
Jamo is a renowned danish brand in the home entertainment business.
A tight and inspiring collaboration between Jamo and design-people has led to a strong and consistent design line. The design-DNA covers a wide range of audio products - from small iPod systems to powerful sound equipment. The minimalistic design goes with modern interior design trends which makes the sound systems an attractive choice, also for female users.
Integrated sound design
Jamo’s new In-wall and In-ceiling loudspeakers aim at the American market.
The new product lines consist of 18 different loudspeaker models that all are based on the same design principle. The pivot able midrange and tweeters are placed on a bridge, that is fastened by a center plug in the middle of the bass woofer. This stable structure enhances the sound performance and is at the same time a unique design element. After the wall fitting, the speakers are covered by a white grille with magnetic snap.

Long lasting design DNA
The elegant wall mounted units form a range of controls that follow the same interaction and design principles.
In 2004 the deviheat 130 succesfully launched the design line with a red dot design award. Since then a number of different controls extended the Danfoss-DEVI product and design line. A new red dot design award for the deviheat 233 in 2008 confirmed the succes of the long lasting design DNA.
